Dr. Nicole Cobb is the Associate Chair and faculty in the Department of Human and Organizational Development at Vanderbilt University. Prior to coming to Vanderbilt, she served as Executive Director of School Counseling for the Metropolitan Nashville Public Schools. She has worked in education for 25 years as a teacher, school counselor and administrator at the district and state level. Her research and field-facing work examines how schools structure student support systems including MTSS, SEL, restorative practices, and small-learning community frameworks. She also aids schools in creating and implementing crisis response efforts. She holds a doctoral degree in Educational Leadership and Policy from the University of Tennessee. She sits on multiple advisory boards, provides consultation to school districts, foundations, and universities, and engages in research projects that widen access to educational and student support programming.
