Chanda specializes in child/student privacy matters at Loeb & Loeb. She advises a broad range of clients (including edtech vendors that leverage AI) on navigating compliance with U.S. and international data protection laws like the Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA), the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA), the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), and the EU’s General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). This often includes assisting clients with the creation of privacy policies/programs and product review. Prior to joining Loeb & Loeb, Chanda was the inaugural Christopher Wolf Fellow at the Future of Privacy Forum (FPF) where she worked on student privacy and advertising technology issues from a policy-making perspective. Her responsibilities at FPF ranged from filing comments with government agencies to facilitating discussions on privacy best practices with different stakeholders (industry, nonprofit, academic, and government regulators).
