As the Director of Family Support, Shah manages, directs, and resolves family and advocate escalations that impact students with disabilities and their families. Coordinating with NYCDOE Borough and Citywide Office (BCO) special education staff, the Office of the Supervisors of School Psychologists, Committees on Special Education, and other Central DOE offices: Shah ensures that all escalations are responded to and managed to resolution promptly. Shah has been with the NYC DOE since 2011 and supported students and families as a member of the family court liaison, impartial hearing, and special education policy teams.
