Bio
Gloria Corsino is an effective and passionate parent leader. She has 3 sons all who are public school educated. Her eldest was in General Education and her two younger sons are students in District 75. She has had the pleasure of serving on every PA, SLT, DLT and any other committee in all her children’s schools. She served 6 years on the Citywide Education Council for District 75 3 of which she held the title of President. She is currently finishing a term on the Citywide Education for Special Education where she is the D75 representative. She is a state certified Parent Member (an essential support during any IEP meeting). Today, as member of the Citywide Council for Special Education, she collaborates DOE divisions as well as community-based organizations and government agencies to aide families and their children with disabilities on their educational journey as well as a successful transition into adulthood. She was appointed by former Chancellor Farina to the Blue Book working group, the Space Planning group. She was in the inaugural class of the David Mensah Parent Leadership Academy. With the support of the Bronx Borough President Ruben Diaz Jr. and his Education Chairperson Monica Majors she pushed and was able to bring forth a presentation to Bronx parents who lived in the shelters of the Bronx from the DOE division of Students in Transitional Housing division on the rights of families and students who are currently residing in said shelters.
