Arwina Vallejo graduated from the Graduate School of Education at Fordham University where she earned a master's degree in school psychology and an advanced certificate in bilingual school psychology.

Ms. Vallejo began working for NYC DOE in 2006 and served community District 4 for six years as a bilingual school psychologist; thereafter, she served as supervisor of school psychologists for three years, overseeing Districts 1,2, and 4. As a supervisor of school psychologists, Ms. Vallejo frequently created and delivered innovative professional learning opportunities for school psychologists and social workers citywide.

In 2018 Ms. Vallejo was promoted to the role of Executive Director of School Based Evaluations and Family Engagement. As an executive director, Ms. Vallejo oversees the quality and compliance of special education evaluations to students citywide and in the collaborative nature of this work, she consults and collaborates with school leaders and administrators to reach targeted goals that will help all students have access to the quality specially designed instruction that will ensure academic progress. Ms. Vallejo continues to provide and oversee training to supervisors and clinicians throughout New York City.
