My entire 30+ year career has been centered around instructional technology! I spent 15 years providing instructional technology support for higher education and the last 21 years at the K-12 level. 20 years ago, our district Instructional Technology Plan focused on getting the appropriate hardware in place to support instruction. We have now evolved to having a solid infrastructure, and need more guidance from the instructional leaders with regards to ensure our teaching staff have digital tools (software) and the knowledge to use them well. This is an interesting shift in our tech planning process.
