Shira Sassoon, M.S., CCC-SLP, TSSLD is a recipient of the NYC DOE Graduate Scholarship Program. She holds a Bachelor's degree in Communication Sciences and Disorders from Queens College and a Master of Science degree in Speech and Language Pathology from Adelphi University in Garden City. Shira Sassoon started her career with the NYC Department of Education in 2011 and is currently licensed by the state of New York.  Since 2015, she has been an integral part of the CAT Team, conducting assessments of assistive technology, delivering comprehensive training to teachers, staff, and parents, providing support in implementation, adapting curriculum, and facilitating professional development initiatives in various educational settings.  Furthermore, Shira Sassoon embraced the responsibility of mentoring and training several novice members of the CAT AAC team, offering them valuable guidance, support, and training packets to develop their skills and proficiency as assistive technology evaluators.  Moreover, Shira Sassoon possesses a strong background and extensive hands-on experience in designing and implementing streamlined workflows using Google Forms, Google Sheets, Google Docs, Autocrat, and Form Mule. Her expertise lies in optimizing workflows for the CAT AAC team and automating processes by leveraging the capabilities of these platforms. As a dedicated and passionate speech pathologist, Shira Sassoon derives great fulfillment from her work with children of diverse ages who face a wide range of disorders. Motivated by her unwavering determination, she strives to equip each individual with the necessary tools to communicate effectively. Shira Sassoon remains committed to ongoing learning and has been recognized as a recipient of the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association's ACE Award for her dedication to continuing education.
