David received his MA in Special Education of the Blind and Visually Impaired from Teachers College, Columbia University, and has been working for the NYC Department of Education as a Teacher of the Visually Impaired for over 20 years. Since 2003, he has served as the Vision Technology Coordinator, conducting assistive technology evaluations for students with blindness and visual impairment as well as providing training in the use of assistive technology to students and staff. David developed and taught a course on low and high tech devices for the visually impaired at Teachers College. He has presented at numerous conferences, including Closing the Gap, and in 2017 was named an Apple Distinguished Educator.
