As the Senior Director of World Languages, Jill works closely with central offices, school administrators, and World Language educators across languages and levels to create professional learning opportunities and resources to support them. These resources guide educators to shift their classroom practice and curriculum to a more culturally-responsive and proficiency-centered approach, aligned to the 2021 Standards Revisions. In addition, Jill coordinates the New York State Seal of Biliteracy (NYSSB) across NYCDOE high schools, which is a way to affirm and build upon the gifts our MLs/ELLs bring. Jill serves on the New York State World Languages Content Advisory Panel, the New York State Seal of Biliteracy Statewide Task Force, the NADSFL Advisory Board, and the NECTFL Board of Directors. Jill previously taught middle school ESL and Japanese, as well as served District 10 schools as the ELL Services Administrator.
