Wil Mara has been writing for more than thirty-five years and is the author of more than 300 books, many of which are for younger readers. He was also a professional editor, production manager, and executive for twenty of those years, working for publishers such as Scholastic, McGraw-Hill, and Prentice Hall. His bestselling 'Twisted' series---supernatural stories for a middle-grade audience---is currently being developed for television. He received the Literary Lion Award from the US Library of Congress in 2019, and in 2020 he was chosen as New Jersey's Author of the Year. He has spoken out against book banning on many forums recently, including a segment that aired on PBS in October of 2023.
