Clark Hamel is a queer man who moved to Brooklyn after graduating from Bard College in 2017. He started as a volunteer community speaker with PFLAG NYC and officially joined the staff in 2019. Clark trains community volunteers, presents to students, educators and parents, and provides LGBTQ education to school communities throughout NYC. Clark is passionate about transgender rights, particularly in relation to access to education and healthcare. He led the education track for the Professional Symposium of Gender Conference NYC in 2020 and also serves on the Columbia Gender Identity Clinic’s Advisory Board at Columbia University Irving Medical Center and Community Advisory Board of Apicha Community Health Center, as well as working with various sexuality and wellness companies promoting trans inclusivity. Clark is a graduate of Bard College and will begin a master’s in human rights at JohnJay College in Fall 2021.
