Dr. Patricia Trejo is a respected figure in educational leadership; one of South Florida’s Hispanic Women of Distinction honorees, and recognized by the 12th U.S. Secretary of Education, Dr. Miguel Cardona, with a “¡Pa’lante!” commemorative coin award for her dedicated servant leadership. Dr. Trejo currently holds the influential position of the Executive Director of the Florida Association of Latino Administrators and Superintendents (FL-ALAS). In her seven-year tenure, she has played a vital role in developing strong leaders across Florida and supporting them in enhancing their leadership skills, approaches, and methods to effectively educate and nurture their students. Dr. Trejo's career in public education spans over 25 years, during which she has held various roles, including teacher, district learning team facilitator, assistant principal at a high-tech school, dual language principal, district program planner, and senior director of English for speakers of other languages. Dr. Trejo's academic journey includes earning a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science with a minor in Mass Communications from the University of Florida, followed by a Master of Education and a Doctor of Education from Nova Southeastern University. Dr. Trejo is a graduate of the National Association of Latino Administrators and Superintendents Leadership Academy (Cohort X), and of the ALAS Women Superintendents' Policy Leadership Academy. From 2020-2026, Dr. Trejo co-facilitated the National ALAS Linking Latina Leaders Network, serves on the National ALAS Policy and Advocacy committee, is a member of the National Association for Bilingual Education (NABE), and CEO of Trejo Learning Consultancy (TLC), an S-corporation she founded.
