Bio

I am a forward thinking EdTech and Robotics specialist that has taught 11 years at Bertschi School, located in Seattle and 13 years in grades 3-5 at a highly impacted, public, Title 1 school. My life as a teacher follows a crazy path, having been interviewed to provide more learning about robots and education for Bill Gates, to studying at Carnegie Mellon's National Robotics & Engineering Center, to being invited to present at the LEGO® Global HQ in Denmark. I was chosen, amongst 50 educators from around the world, to study at MIT's famed Media Lab, where I met former Media Lab director, Joi Ito, famed roboticist, Dr. Cynthia Breazeal and listened to current Media Lab director, Dava Newman discuss her work with NASA. More recently, I was selected as a Wonder Workshop Global Ambassador, was interviewed as their Educator of the Month and spoke at their International Virtual STEAM Conference. I have worked on projects with foundry10 on VR and my students have won awards from our mayor and governor of Washington state and presented at the Amazon HQ for the Hour of Code in front of a thousand people. I have been a LEGO® Education Master Educator since the onset of their program and was interviewed for WIRED magazine with LEGO® Education and am always looking for new ways to inspire, connect and make kids go, "Whoah! That's so cool! I want to learn more!" I like to lean in, listen and imagine because, “Big ideas always start with little steps.”
