Bio
Jackeline Ortiz graduated from Touro College with a Bachelor of Science in Health Science and master’s in Occupational Therapy. She started working for the NYC Department of Education (DOE) in 2004 in the Bronx District 11 with students in Pre-K through High School. Her experience within school-based practice spans multiple student populations, including Autism, ADHD, Emotional Disturbance, Learning Disability, Intellectual Disability, and Multiple Disabilities. She worked as a Senior Instructional Therapist (SIT) for 8 years where she assisted her colleagues in acclimating to the DOE and participating in OT initiatives to include integrating therapy into the classroom setting, evaluating and treating sensory dysfunction, working within an Autism spectrum disorder (ASD) program, and utilizing yoga and mindfulness as a therapeutic tool. In September 2018, she transitioned into the role of Supervisor of Occupational Therapy in District 11 & 75 (P12X, P596X, P176X, P188X, P721X and P723X).
