Daniel founded eChalk with Torrance Robinson in 1999 and has served in various roles – Chief Operating Officer, Chief Executive Officer, and Chairman—since then. Immediately prior to founding the company, Daniel taught 8th grade math at JHS 258 (David Ruggles School) in Brooklyn. Before teaching, Daniel was a consultant at Corporate Decisions, Inc., a spinoff of Bain Consulting that advised major corporations on growth strategy. Daniel graduated Magna Cum Laude from Harvard College with a degree in philosophy.
