Keynote: PD for District Leaders: How Do We Prepare Ourselves for AI & Other Rapidly Emerging Tech?

We talk a lot about the challenge of providing programs that our students need to prepare for for careers and technology that do not yet exist. But what skills do district leaders need to support the technology in our schools that is already rapidly evolving? How do we become creative innovators to focus not on what we know, but what we can do with what we know? In this keynote, Denver Public Schools CIO Dr. Richard Charles discusses the need for district leaders to continuously develop their professional “soft skills” skills – flexibility, problem solving, creativity, and collaboration – to be the kind of leaders today’s schools need to succeed. Dr. Charles will also discuss the large language model they are embracing at Denver Public Schools to prepare their school communities for AI and other emerging tech.
