FAQ

If your child does not have an IEP, but you are interested in learning about special education, the conference will have workshops to help you learn about the process and determine if a referral for special education may be appropriate for your child.

If you live in New York City but your child attends a non-public school or is not yet enrolled in a school, the conference will still provide valuable and relevant information. Students in non-public schools or those who are not attending can still be referred for special education services and evaluated by the New York City Department of Education.

Community partners and DOE staff serve a critical role in sharing information with families and are, therefore, encouraged to attend.

Sessions will be recorded and available for viewing after the conference as well.

Mandarin, Spanish and American Sign Language interpretation will be provided for all sessions.
