1:00 PM - 1:30 PM | Developing a District-Wide Plan for the Use of AI in Schools Kerry Gallagher, Assistant Principal for Teaching and Learning St. John's Prep, and Kelley Papa, Instructional Coach at St. John's Prep, share their generative AI journey. Starting with the media-driven panic in schools in November 2022, they will share how they started with faculty listening sessions, student and parent communications, academic integrity policies, and starting to create a vision with the school board. The mindset of curiosity continued in 2023-2024 school year with teacher innovator lunch discussions, careful selection and roll out of a school-sanctioned AI tool, and professional learning in many forms.
