Keynote: Make the Clear Move: Leadership in Complex Times

Today’s leaders face complexity from every direction including emerging technologies, shifting policies, and rising community expectations. The leaders who thrive are those who translate complexity into clear direction that empowers action. Every leader will face moments when the next move matters most, and how they respond influences the impact on student success. Marlon Styles shares his insight as a former superintendent, now national public speaker and author of the new book, “Making Your Move: For Ambitious People Ready to Live Their Aspirations”.

Washington State’s Elementary Principal of the Year Shares Her Tips for Successful Leadership

Recently named Washington State Principal of the Year for 2025, Cathi Davis serves as Principal of Ruby Bridges Elementary in Woodinville. Funded by a 2018 bond, to help ease the crowding of schools in the north end, Ruby Bridges (or elementary #21 as it was called) has 43 classrooms serving approximately 500 students. Davis was selected as Ruby Bridges founding Principal largely due to her success at Kokanee where she implemented a Multi-tiered System of Supports framework to foster students’ sense of belonging, fostered positive social skills and behavior; developed teachers’ skill sets through coaching, observations and evaluations focused on student engagement and learning; and led the implementation of professional learning communities and building an equity team aligned with Northshore’s equity policy and strategic plan. Ms. Davis shares her work and vision in this session to inspire other district leaders.
