Bobby Blount is a 1987 graduate from Southern Polytechnic State University in Marietta, Georgia (now merged with Kennesaw State University) with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Computer Science. Upon graduation, he was hired by Emtec, Inc., a worldwide technology firm with a division devoted to K-12 technologies and support services. In 1998, he left the company to take a position with the Cherokee County School District as Coordinator of Technology Services. In August of 2010, he was promoted to the position of Assistant Superintendent of Accountability, Technology and Strategic Planning which is not title as Chief Information Officer. During his 22 years serving Cherokee County Schools and with over 150 million dollars invested in creating an effective technology infrastructure and supporting best practices for technology integration, Bobby continues to enjoy the role of supporting students, teachers, administrators and the community in the District’s 40 schools. “Superintendent of Schools, Dr. Brian V.
