Multilingualism and AAC - Building on the Bilingual Experience" explores the intersection of multilingualism and augmentative and alternative communication (AAC).
The session contains bilingual education background and theory as well as bilingual AAC implementation strategies. Lead by 3 bilingual Speech Language Pathologists and AAC evaluators, attendees will get a birds eye view of the AAC applications that support bilingual users as well as how to best program each app to incorporate multiple languages, with the goal of users expressing themselves fully and comfortably in their preferred languages. The session includes an honest reflection of limitations found in each application and in bilingual AAC use in general.
